I love my dog!!

Felt a little under the weather today, so I took a pajama/couch day. Decided to watch that show, Animal Cops ( I think that's the correct name). I was quite surprised at some of the conditions that they find animals in. It was heart-wrenching. Yes, I am an animal lover. Proud owner of a pitbull/mutt mix. We rescued him from a house in the city. We have had Auggie for a little over a year now. I am 100% in love with this dog. It takes me by surprise sometimes at the emotions this four-legged creature elicits from me. I am a believer in pet therapy. I can feel the drop in my blood pressure when I am laying next to him and we are snuggling. Animals give unconditional love. They live to please their owner. Sometimes on days like today, I believe the relationship with my dog is the most solid one that I am in...lol..Anyhoo, the officers that go out daily to check on animals, rescue if necessary, take their job quite seriously. People who take this job aren't in it to get wealthy. They are doing something that they have a passion and love for. They get tangible results from a days work. Some of the animals I saw on the shows today, matted fur, fleas, ticks, broken bones, open sores with infection running right out of the opening. I believe there should be some accountability/consequences for the errant owners. It costs me about $10 a month to feed my dog. Maybe an extra 10 for some treats or bones. I wish in my heart that people would just remember that animals are living creatures. And so this concludes my rant about pets...

My old lady feels the same way about the dog that killed the bear as you do Auggie.

I wrote the story somewhere or other Lori, maybe one day I'll sit and write it up as a short work. But for now, the dog we have was found in the Virginia woods after a couple of weeks outside, her hip was shattered from a bear swat. She lived and the sheriff shot the bear a couple of weeks later.
