Those were the days..

Watched alot of tv today...So many channels to choose from. I remember when there were 3 major channels and than UHF...Reality TV seems to be a very popular. A society of voyeurs? Seems that way. Lots of police shows, prison type docs...ie..Lockup...every week you can see what life is like inside certain prisons. I grew up on sitcoms...All in the Family, Happy Days, The Jeffersons....my cop show was Dragnet...Tv must change with the times, like everything else. Nothing is really sacred anymore. You don't actually have to get up and go to church, you can just watch it on your screen. Personally I do enjoy certain TV ministries. Anyway to spread The Word is ok, I think. I love watching documentaries. Pick a topic and you will almost certainly find a documentary to match. Yesterday I discovered veoh tv.. sort of like surfthechannel.net , so now I can watch tv and movies right here from my swivel computer chair, much to the annoyance of my husband. He claims everything is becoming too solitary. With the click of a mouse you can find entertainment, companionship if you so desire, view all parts of the world etc..His opinion is that the techno age is the ruination of the next generation. He has 10 years on me, and he grew up where kids went outside to play on a nice day, not sit inside playing Nintendo. My man feels very lost in this current world. We never fight over the computer- he doesn't touch it. He yearns for the time when everyone would gather 'round the tv. to laugh with Archie Bunker. So we go on...he has his remote and I have my mouse...whatever works...

Kenny you're an old poop! Why fight it, the technology isn't going anywhere eh?

Funny thing is I wonder how old Kenny is because I thought he was my age, 53, but I watched The Little Rascals, Bowery Boy movies on TV and of course the ever funny Three Stooges.

I was either gone outta of the house or never home for Happy Days, All in the Family. Although I do remember some comment my mother made about Archie...she didn't get how ground breaking that show was.

That sitting around the TV as a family does sound quaint even though it never happened anywhere I lived, unless you count the news hours of the '60s.

Now I spend my time in front of this monitor or the TV and that works just fine for me.

Peace

Ah, he loved the old poop comment. LOL...fortunately for him, I love him, old poop and all. Actually he is going on 51, those were my childhood shows..I am 41, make more sense now? He loved The Little Rascals...sidenote-just talking about the dog on the show..pit bull. Remember Buster Brown..the little girl and the dog..pit bull...We just watched a documentary called Off The Chain..we have a pit/lab mix..they were saying how there was a time, when that was the family dog of choice..it was pretty interesting, very sad though..I think dogfighting is horrid...but so many people don't remember the times when the dog was considered a great pet. Sorry for getting off track...from poop to pits...

Oh yes the dog with the circle around the eye! Ya know dogs in general are so trainable, I think that when they turn on someone that either they have been trained to react or never taught at all...either way human error eh?

i was right he is an old poop, where as I on the other hand...

ha ha ha
