A day off and some American Pie

This is my day off. I know the weeks ahead are going to be filled with work and weariness, but that is a good thing. I am employed, actually at two jobs. I am going to drop the 7-11 as she did not honor her agreement of 32 hours a week. I am using my inner gut feeling. The owner of Denny's said he will take care of me and I believe him.

American Pie is a very special record to me. It was the first 45 I bought. Actually my dad bought it for me. I had a Mickey Mouse record player. I think I was 5. I LOVED this song when I was little. My father died in '05, but everytime I hear this song, he comes back to me. Us singing in the car this song at the top of our lungs all off key and so what? These memories are what make me perservere. I quote some rather odd folks..Today it is Gloria Gaynor. I will survive...Enjoy your Sunday.

I'm so excited to hear your story about the Denny's owner (re: the comment you left on my blog) and that it is working out for you. There may be some rough patches, it takes time to settle into a new place!

Thanks for taking the time to comment and share your experience at my blog. It helps me.

I talked to Andrew today, he said the first thing he was going to do when he gets out is get a cell phone. *sigh* Their priorities, huh...
anyway, enjoy your day off. I too am working 50 hours a week, and it SUCKS!

Tell Andrew a cell phone is a want not a need. My brother in law was on parole in PA. He got moved to a halfway house and rented a room and was not allowed to have a cell phone. God I want him to make it. He is intelligent, goodlooking, and has all the tools. I pray he uses them. Today is my first day back at Denny's. I go in at 2 to re-train as it's been almost 10 years. Also, tell Andrew, there are places that if you are a convicted felon you can go there to get help with employment. Decent employment. Not McDonalds. My last conviction was in 2001, but I just found out about this place in Baltimore that are for people with criminal backgrounds. They help you get hired in your "field". I have my data entry certificate. I type 105 words a minute. Tell him to utilize all resources. Than get a darn cell phone. Peace Lou...Don't over work yourself too much.. sending you much love...
