That is me today. Me, Tina and my two bff sister's from Baltimore were going to do a cheap day trip to Ocean City, MD today, but thunderstorms and showers blew that right out of the water. I am a person who can do a beach trip cheap. I go for the ocean, not the t-shirts and trinkets that will wind up in the back of my closet. When you stand in front of the ocean, you realize that you are just not that significant or powerful. The oceans of our world are a testament to the fact that we are just little creatures that are here courtesy of nature.
The weather is supposed to continue on it's shitty path all thru the weekend. I get the blues when it's continuous gray outside. I need some comfort food. Tonight is going to be bacon, eggs and biscuits for dinner, oh yeah, and GRITS....Hot cereal makes me feel full and happy. Wow, happiness is much easier and cheaper at 45 than at 25. Who knew?
Take your tidbits of happiness when they arrive. Peace and Grits!

My preference is a cloudy, rainy day at the beach holed-up in a cheap motel on the sand. Some reading, some dreaming and the chilly rain keeping a walk on the beach solitudinal. Just me, though . . .
Hi Lori, we just had a day of sunshine . . . after two months of grey skies, rain and floods. I was ready for some sun.
I also love the sea and the feeling of insignificance that it gives. It is truly awesome.
Have a great weekend Lori x x
I've never been to the ocean. Maybe some day. As for rainy days, I love them, but only on occasion as they make me gloomy too. But a nice thunderstorm, a good book and my fuzzy blanket...that is comfort. Oh yeah, so is bacon, eggs and biscuits!
I knew that but didn't realize it until I hit 55.
You made me click over to youtube to find Bob Dylan, but instead I found Waylan Jennings version!
Goatman- I get it. I experience the ocean in a very personal way. It's almost a religous experience.
bugerlugs63- Glad you had one day of sunshine. My friends in the UK always joke about their pasty white skin. At least they don't have to worry about skin cancer. Awesome is a great word to describe the feeling. I hope you are well.
Tonya Marie- Hi and welcome. I also don't like day after day of rain, but a good thunderstorm is ok. I light some candles and grab a book and a worn out blanket. Doesn't take much to make me happy..:)
WM- I am just learning what I really like at 45 so don't feel bad, lol...
luluberoo- I only know of the Bob Dylan version. I am sure that Waylon did a pretty good job though. Hope all is well with the family luv.....
