Kitchen nightmares etc...
Hello,
I have been perusing You Tube this morning, watching alot of different Gordon Ramsey clips. My husband and I have taken quite a liking to his shows, Hell's Kitchen, Kitchen Nightmares etc. The man is quite charismatic. Plus, I believe he has a genuine love of food and cooking. That comes from within and after working in restaurants the majority of my life, I always appreciate a great chef. Most are temperamental, have egos that are rather huge, but when you taste what they have prepared, all is forgiven. I love watching someone with skills cook. Speaking of restaurants, tonight is Friday night, and hopefully I will make some $$$$$. This seems to be the one night of the week that we have been consistently busy. So my fingers are crossed, cause we desperately need the cash influx. I work tonight, tomorrow and Sunday. I am off on Tuesdays and Thursdays. I have a great schedule, we just don't have enough customers yet during the weeknights. I have been fighting off this huge black cloud of depression, mostly due to finances, and I am determined come hell or high water that this is going to be a great weekend. Plus, I get to hang out with my son in a work environment which I enjoy immensley. Today is payday, and I think it will be neat to see him get his first paycheck. He finsished building his computer and I am proud, (plus, a little jealous).. To quote J, "it is so sexy"...and he is right. I believe he is becoming a man, I see his character developing and I am starting to like what I see. Walking Man...walk for me today...have a wonderful and fabulous Friday...

Don't call me a boy named Sue
My mind is a little fogged this morning, so I can't remember if I posted this video before, but oh well, it is one of my favorite tunes. Number one, I adore Johnny Cash and I feel the same way about Alabama 3. They are the group that does the theme song for The Sopranos. My latest dilemma in life is money. I am in the midst of trying to get out of debt and it looks like I am going to have to get a second job. Oh joy!! Time to hunker down and grind. Not one of my favorite things to do, but it seems to be the only option. Until this new restaurant truly takes off, I am going to look for a day job. I am willing and able, because I know the payoff will be the ability to take a financial breather. I hate money. They say money doesn't cause happiness, maybe not spiritually, but try being happy when you are flat broke. Once the bills are paid there is really nothing left. My nicotine habit doesn't help, but it is one of my vices. I don't have too many vices left these days. I can't afford the illegal ones, so mine are actually cheap as my narcotic vice is actually a necessity for pain management. Can't afford back surgery, or the time off from work. So I opt for medication to mask the pain. I am terrified of getting my back cut open. My doctor used the words degenerative disk disease and sciatic nerve damage. Probably from all the 22 years of waitressing/barmaiding. Ironically I have my data entry/business certificate, but I always seem to make more money slinging food and liquor. Anyhow, that is where I am today. Trying to make some life choices that will ultimately improve the quality of my life. When you turn 41, I notice all of the sudden I am thinking about the later years of my life, retirement etc. Funny how far away all those things seem when you are in your twenties. They are now looming in fast and furious. Our economy sucks. It is heartbreaking that a $20 bill doesn't buy you anything except maybe 3 or 4 items nowadays. Wish me well in my economic search for improvement. Have a blessed day everyone...

Bomb Bomb..Rock the Nation
I think his message is self-explanatory...It's been a hot minute since I heard a musician speak his mind so fluently and truthfully. I think Americans are very aggressive by nature. The individuals that aren't, never seem to get their voice heard...Why is that? We have the highest incarceration rate in the world. New day slavery? The prison industry employees millions, not just correction officers, but parole, probation, judges, "court-mandated" drug programs that don't help anyone...construction companies, food suppliers, so inmates can work for 45cents-$1 a day. The way we handle justice in our country personally embarrasses me. I know from firsthand personal experience that their isn't true justice for all. I think alot of judges have good intentions, but the machine is too big, the votes for re-election are too important. So when you are standing before a judge, with your court appointed public defender, does that judge really see YOU?? I don't think so..I think after so many years the ideals about truth and justice get lost, people get jaded. You aren't a person anymore, just a criminal. The main reason for embarrassment is if this system actually worked it would be one thing, but check out the recidivism rates...a prison that is called a revolving door is one that isn't accomplishing rehabilitation. It's one big ball of wax, prisons, the so called War on Drugs....I personally think this country was better off before the Harrison Act. At least where narcotics of the opiate family are concerned. Once they pushed that underground, the black market took over and the crime starts. One big freaking merry-go-round that never stops. When I look at our elderly population that is supposed to live on their little SSI checks, it breaks my heart. These people go without decent health care because they are forced to make choices..mortgage or groceries? Food or prescriptions? At least people are getting more physical ex- cerise because we are choosing to walk, because we have too. Gas costs too much money. We have basically destroyed this planet...our planet is a living breathing mass, and we have proven to be a virus that is unstoppable, spreading our pollution and waste, just like cancer does to the human body. When will it stop? I don't think it is ever going to stop and that is what scares me the most....I am indeed a flawed human being, but I do what I can to not hurt the environment. I hope to have grandchildren one day, but than that leaves me another question...do I want my children to bring another generation to this world as it stands right now? I can't honestly say I do when I think about what their world will be like.

Tie my apron mom!!!!

Well, last night was soooo slow, but that's ok...it was J's first night at work. I was so proud. This is a great opportunity for him. And we get along at work...it was nice...Jeremy said he did a good job. This will be a good place for him to learn about the back of the house and than the front as well. He ultimately wants to serve or bartend. I told him all that comes in time. So his current title is"Dishwasher"...I am glad this chance happened to work out for him...

I need a soldier!!!!!
I don't need a soldier...I have one...Anyone who can hang with me for 18 years is def a soldier....Our dog is a canine soldier...Auggie rocks...Everyone is so damn scared of him, the pit bull stigma...He is the most lovable dog you would ever meet. It's all good though, because I would rather people think he's a beast and not break in my damn house. On the homefront my son got the job...I bring my boy to work with me tonight, he is now a dishwasher....on Friday and Saturday nights...My man has the blues...His brother was supposed to drop him off a little "gift" last night. The point is we hooked his brother up with the person, and his brother called yesterday and was in trouble physically, and asked us for the guys number, Kenny set it up, had the guy ride out to Rick's work and take care of him...so Rick was supposed to drop Kenny off a little thank you gift.,...well once he got right, he started putting Kenny off, said he would bring it by in the am, well of course that never happened. I hate talking in circles, but most people know what I am talking about. Anyhow, Kenny's feelings are more hurt than anything. My man believe's in that Pacino quote..."All you have in this world is your word and your balls..and you don't break them for nooone". Even tho we are out of the game for the most part, if someone is in trouble and we can help we do what we can. I don't like to see anyone ill. I believe addiction is a disease, and I watch people struggle every day to make it. Especially working addicts. Rick is on parole and has a really good job, but he just started pain management, and he thought the doc would write him for methadone, like mine does.. Nope, he wrote him Oxy's..the 10's- 1 in the am and 1 in the pm..Well they don't work for him. Rick blew threw his month supply in about 1 week and is stranded...so hence, he had to turn to the street. I told him to be honest with his doctor and tell him that Oxy's are not the right drug for you. Methadone works great for long term chronic pain. Once you find the right dose, it will hold you 24 hours and you don't need to keep increasing the amount of medication. Everyone thinks methadone is just for "junkies", but my doctor prefers methadone for people who suffer from chronic pain, due to the long lasting effects. It is wonderful at masking pain. Back to Kenny, his brother gave him his word, if it weren't for Kenny making the phone call and setting things up, his brother would have been stuck at his work, sick as a dog. He would have done it regardless, but Rick said hey I am spending $150, let me send something your way, so Kenny got his hopes built up, because he only does it once in a blue moon, and than his brother started the bullshit "I got you, but this/that came up...etc.."...Kenny told him on the phone this morning, "don't worry, it's no thing"...I guarantee when I go to the doctor on Monday Rick will be blowing up my cell phone, begging and guess what....Oops, something is gonna come up.....petty, but when people come correct with me, I do what I can to act accordingly. I hate to see anyone, my son, husband, my girl anyone that I love hurt...because than it is just like you hurt me. Kenny is one of the most decent men I have ever been with, and he always treats people properly. There is an expression..."you fuck with my dog, I'll kill your cat"....and that's all I have to say for now.. Have a great day everyone...
