Why does misery love company?

Does it? When I'm miserable, which is not often, I want solitude.

Lou- I, too, prefer to be alone when I am miserable. There seems to many people though who seem to like to spread their misery like a virus. I am thankful that I am not high maintance emotionally. It doesn't take much to make me happy. I thank God for that gift.

Kind of obvious, when things are intense, i close down and only come out when i find my self again.

Whitemist-I like how you described closing down. More people need to do that in the heat of a moment or such.
